Can I contribute to the site?
Oh yes. In fact, we’re counting on it. Because there are only so many satirical articles twelve women and one exhausted political science professor can write before they start repeating headlines like “AI Elected to School Board, Refuses to Work With Humans” — which, by the way, we’ve already written. Twice. See: https://bohiney.com/ai-school-board-refusal.
Bohiney.com is built on the backs of keyboard warriors, aspiring jesters, caffeine alchemists, and those weirdos who write 1,200 words on why Finland should annex South Dakota for “emotional balance.” If that’s you, welcome home.
We accept freelance satire submissions, guest columns, and weird pitch ideas. Want to write as a fictional character? Cool. Want to pitch us a 5-part investigative satire series about your HOA president possibly being a lizard in a man-suit? Even better. We’ve already cleared space on the homepage.
Who We Want to Hear From:
-
Satirical writers with strong voices and even stronger caffeine dependencies
-
Comedians who want to stretch beyond stand-up and roast global events in prose
-
Journalists tired of objectivity and ready to say what everyone’s thinking
-
Philosophers who never quite got tenure but still have a lot of rage to share
-
Interns from real newsrooms who realize satire has better dental and worse morals
Submission Guidelines:
-
Keep it sharp. If it wouldn’t make your boss laugh nervously, it’s probably not satire.
-
Word Count: 600–2,200 words. Unless it’s funny at 300. Or 5,000. (We’ll let you know.)
-
Format: Google Doc, PDF, or chalk etching on a medieval door — we accept all file types except Microsoft Works and emotional blackmail.
-
Include links to your previous writing, TikTok rants, or even your weirdest tweet.
Visit https://bohiney.com/contribute for our full pitch form and tone guide.
What’s In It for You?
-
Publication on one of the fastest-growing satirical news platforms (6M+ views/month and rising)
-
A byline that sounds vaguely dangerous at Thanksgiving dinner
-
Promotion across our channels (email newsletter, social media, and questionable street flyers in Portland)
-
The possibility of joining our recurring contributor circle — with access to our private Discord, pitch meetings, and our editor’s once-a-month wine-fueled monologues
What We Don’t Want:
-
Hate speech dressed up as “edgy” humor (we can tell the difference)
-
AI-generated nonsense (unless the AI’s having a breakdown and wrote it on purpose)
Satire is a team sport, and we’re drafting players who can score goals and throw pies at politicians in the same sentence. So yes, you can — and should — contribute.
Just remember: if your satire doesn’t slightly offend your high school debate teacher, you’re doing it wrong.
