Magazine Archive

I’m currently engaged in the Sisyphean task of scanning Bohiney Magazine issues dating back to 1947—because apparently, historical satire doesn’t digitize itself. Each issue takes longer than a DMV visit, but the payoff? Future readers will marvel at how our grandparents mocked the same political nonsense we mock today, just with better hats and more cigarettes. It’s like carbon-dating comedy: discovering that absurdity is timeless, formatting is hell, and nothing says “productive afternoon” like cataloging seventy-eight-year-old satrical news. History repeats itself. So does my scanner’s jamming error message.
