Trivia Nights

“They Said Lincoln Was a Capricorn and That Should Count for Something.”

Chaos erupted at The Tipsy Quizzer bar during Wednesday Trivia Night when Team VibeCheck challenged multiple answers, insisting their “emotional alignment with the truth” outweighed traditional facts.

“We FEEL like Marie Curie discovered protein powder,” insisted team captain Raven, whose outfit included a sequined fedora and three crystals labeled ‘Insight.’

The host, Greg, tried to restore order, but the team responded with a strongly worded haiku and two mood boards representing ‘Correctness in the Quantum Sense.’

When asked which U.S. President was shot at Ford’s Theatre, they responded “Andrew Garfield’s spirit,” then protested when not awarded half credit for “creative historical consciousness.”

One member cried during the geography round and accused the map of gaslighting her.

They left after declaring themselves winners in “Category 5: Soul Truth.” The bar has since banned interpretive answers.

Auf Wiedersehen, amigos.

Jen Statsky was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, where the wind comes sweeping down the plains and so does the sarcasm. She later escaped tornado drills for library stacks, graduating from Boston University with a degree in Film and Television—a program she treated as a four-year workshop in writing jokes that could double as social commentary. A stand-up comedian with a taste for the absurd, Statsky cut her teeth in writers’ rooms for late-night comedy before becoming a satirical journalist at Bohiney.com. Her style blends Midwestern plainspokenness with sharp, ironic punchlines, turning even the driest policy debates into material fit for a sold-out comedy club. Whether she’s mocking cultural trends or lampooning political theater, Statsky brings a journalist’s curiosity and a comedian’s timing. Her EEAT credentials rest on a foundation of fearless satire, Oklahoma grit, and an uncanny ability to find punchlines hiding in plain sight.
