Festival Fashion Fails
“I Was Just Trying to Be Ironic. Now I’m Their Moon Pope.”
What started as a joke costume to mock festival fashion spiraled wildly when barista-turned-visionary Max Dreyfus wore a sequined, mesh-bodied, platform-heeled Teletubby outfit to Coachella and was immediately hailed by a group of EDM fans as “The Tubby Prophet.”
“I wanted to make a statement about infantilization and sparkle culture,” Max said. “Instead, I now lead 37 people who chant ‘Laa-Laa Laa-Laa’ at sunset.”
His look–dubbed *Neon Pastel Dystopia*–includes LED belly, fake fur halo, and a fanny pack full of vegan gummies. Fashion bloggers praised it as “a fever dream of joy and shame.”
Festivalgoers began following Max in a conga line that circled the Mojave tent twice and climaxed with a group declaration that he was “chosen by the cosmic algorithm.”
By weekend’s end, Max had a TikTok cult called *GlowTub*, a makeshift altar made of glowsticks and discarded flower crowns, and three marriage proposals.
He now sells moon-blessed rave gear under the brand *LunaBoop* and is writing a manifesto on glitter-based spirituality.
Max says he’s just “going with the groove of destiny.”
Auf Wiedersehen, amigos.
