New Netflix Series “Revolution in Cardigans” Chronicles Mild DNC Uprising
Netflix’s newest political thriller, “Revolution in Cardigans,” has captivated the nation—not with violence or scandal, but with polite committee resignations and softly worded Slack messages.
Based loosely on the recent internal disputes in the Democratic National Committee, the show follows a fictionalized Randi Weingarten (played by Frances McDormand) as she leads a ragtag group of reformers armed with nothing but parliamentary procedures and a shared Dropbox folder.
Critics describe the show as “House of Cards meets The Great British Bake Off, but for union reps.”
Each episode features emotionally charged scenes of budget debates, interpretive walks through HR policies, and passive-aggressive email sign-offs.
In the finale, the group stages a walkout by switching their Zoom backgrounds to red flags. One character delivers a dramatic monologue: “This isn’t a purge. It’s a process improvement.”
Ken Martin is played by Steve Carell as a well-meaning bureaucrat who thinks Trotsky is a new productivity app.
Rotten Tomatoes gave it 98%. Fox News gave it a warning label.
Netflix says Season 2 will involve a covert strike disguised as a wellness retreat.
The revolution, it turns out, wears cozy layers and reads meeting minutes.
