Agents Alarmed by “Excessive Inner Peace” and Homemade Sandals
ATLANTA, GA — Transportation Security Administration (TSA) agents at Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport denied Mahatma Gandhi access to TSA PreCheck this week, citing “unreadable biometrics, questionable footwear, and an unsettling lack of urgency.”
“He radiated calm to the point of suspicion,” said Agent Todd Lintner. “It’s like he didn’t even want to make his flight. That’s a red flag in 2025.”
According to eyewitnesses, Gandhi arrived barefoot except for sandals made of twine and inner resolve. He carried no luggage, only a pouch of lentils and a folded pamphlet titled “Nonviolence and the Terminal.” The TSA’s facial recognition system reportedly froze when attempting to scan him, displaying an error message that read: “Identity transcends algorithm.”
Multiple agents conducted secondary screenings, growing increasingly unnerved by Gandhi’s refusal to remove his serenity. “He just stood there, hands folded, smiling like he had nowhere to be,” said Officer Riley Sandow. “It was emotionally aggressive.”
After a pat-down revealed nothing but forgiveness and a mild sandalwood scent, Gandhi was escorted to the standard security line, where he waited peacefully for 43 minutes, occasionally blessing angry travelers.
Spirit Airlines declined to comment on whether Gandhi’s presence would impact their new “Enlightenment Surcharge.” Meanwhile, Delta has introduced a pilot program called “ZenFast,” inspired by the incident, which promises enlightenment for $39.95 and priority boarding with a clean soul.
Gandhi eventually boarded his flight without issue. Passengers reported he spent the entire journey meditating and declining peanuts. Upon landing, he allegedly whispered, “The only baggage I carry is karmic,” before disappearing into a Lyft driven by a part-time monk.
