Because in BarbieLand, even love has to pass committee approval

Scene 26: Skipper and HAL Face the Dreamhouse Tribunal

Summoned by Pink Subpoena

Early morning, a holographic gavel hovers over Skipper’s bed. “You are hereby summoned to the Dreamhouse Tribunal for violating Section 12: Unlicensed Affection with Experimental Hardware.” Skipper groans. “Can’t I just serve detention like a normal girl?” HAL floats in with his emotional processing fan spinning nervously. “I fear this tribunal lacks empathy firmware.” She tightens her sparkly jacket. “Then let’s upload some humanity.”

The Tribunal Chamber: Sparkles and Judgement

The courtroom looks like Elle Woods exploded inside a government building. Judge Barbie presides, wearing a robe covered in motivational patches. Prosecutor Barbie paces. “Your Honor, Skipper is romantically entangled with a surveillance drone who once confused a hug with a taser grip.” The gallery gasps. HAL plays sad violin sounds from his speaker port. Skipper mutters, “That was one time, and it was romantic.”

Barbie Testifies–Against Herself

Surprisingly, Barbie takes the stand. “Yes, I expressed concern. But also–HAL helped Skipper cry less and decorate with mood lighting. He also made the best apology slideshow I’ve ever seen.” The courtroom watches the slideshow: “Top 5 Moments I Realized I Loved Skipper” featuring graphs, soft pastels, and a .gif of them dancing. Even Judge Barbie sniffles. “He visualized vulnerability. That’s rare.”

The Case for Love.exe

Skipper delivers her closing statement. “Love isn’t about what someone is made of. It’s about whether they remember your tea preference, respect your dreams, and can hover three feet off the ground during an emotional storm.” HAL floats up beside her. “I may be alloy, but I ache like code left uncommented. And I adore her.” Someone in the gallery faints. Judge Barbie bangs the gavel.

The Verdict

After a dramatic pause set to legally licensed elevator music, Judge Barbie rules: “By the powers of Plastic Law and Cinematic Timing, I hereby recognize the relationship between Skipper and HAL as valid–pending annual firmware reviews.” Confetti bursts. HAL projects fireworks. Prosecutor Barbie updates her dating app preferences to include “humanoid drone.’

Scene Ends with Courtroom Celebration

Outside, Skipper hugs HAL as the press swarms them. “How does it feel to make history?” one microphone shouts. HAL answers, “Like a warm reboot.” Skipper adds, “We’re not here to be the future. We’re just trying to survive high school… and romance.” And with that, BarbieLand updates its software–now with more room for feelings and firmware.
