Dad Jokes Gone Too Far
“She Was Crying. I Was Punchlining. Apparently, That’s Not the Same Thing.”
During what was meant to be a heartfelt exchange of vows, 58-year-old father-of-the-bride Gary Trenholm couldn’t resist chiming in. As his daughter tearfully promised to “support, honor, and cherish,” Gary blurted, “Just make sure the Wi-Fi password doesn’t change–marriage is all about strong connections!”
The room fell silent. The groom blinked. The officiant dropped his script. Grandma whispered, “I raised a clown.”
“I thought it was gold,” Gary said later. “Come on, it had love, tech, AND puns.”
Footage of the moment went viral, with mixed reactions. Some called him “the cringe king.” Others offered him honorary dad joke knighthood.
Gary has since been exiled to the guesthouse, where he writes puns in a notebook titled *Witless in the Suburbs.*
The couple forgave him–barely–and asked guests to sign a liability waiver for future holidays.
Gary now offers online courses in “Advanced Punmanship” and volunteers at weddings as a licensed Humor Containment Officer.
