“She Called It ‘Sunday School Justice.’ The Table Didn’t Stand a Chance.”
What began as a friendly wrestling-themed barbecue turned into a suburban SmackDown when 72-year-old Grandma Bev launched herself from the porch railing and powerbombed her son-in-law through a folding table, yelling “You call that a marinade, Greg?”
The move, caught on video by a horrified-but-impressed teenager, has racked up 22 million views on TikTok under the hashtag #GrannyGrapples.
The league, originally dubbed Backyard Brawlers United (BBU), included matches like “The Mulch Mayhem Match” and “Lawnchair Ladder Showdown.” The event featured homemade belts, fake blood made of ketchup, and commentary from a six-year-old in a cape.
“It was all fun,” said co-founder Todd. “Until Grandma entered the ring and quoted Leviticus mid-body slam.”
Local authorities were called after the inflatable kiddie pool was used as a “submission arena.” No arrests were made, but one HOA member has entered witness protection.
Granny Bev has since trademarked her signature move: The Bible Belt Buckle Bomb, and sells prayer candles featuring her mid-air elbow drop.
She’s expected to headline next month’s Pay-Per-Vision event: *Wrath of the Righteous: Smackin’ for Salvation.*
Auf Wiedersehen, amigos.
