Flat-Pack Fiasco
The National Museum of Time & Culture issued a public apology this week after proudly exhibiting what they believed was a Viking scroll–only to discover it was the assembly manual for a LÖMNARP coffee table.
The Discovery
“It had runes, diagrams, and general confusion,” said curator Erik Grønt. “In our defense, it was found buried under a pile of Allen wrenches and cultural guilt.”
Academic Fallout
Historians spent two weeks debating whether ‘Step 4: Insert dowel A into Slot B’ was a metaphor for Nordic conquest or just bad translation.
Public Reaction
Thousands visited before the truth came out. One tourist said, “It really made me think about how complicated identity–and shelving–is.”
Conclusion
The manual has now been properly archived under ‘Swedish Confusion.’ The real Viking exhibit? Still in shipping, allegedly.
