White Castle Slider

Inflation Study: White Castle Slider Now More Valuable Than Oil Barrel

Economists at the University of Houston’s Department of Satirical Economics have confirmed what every Texan already knows: a single White Castle slider, once valued at five cents in 1921, is now more valuable than a barrel of West Texas Intermediate crude.

The study, titled “From Beef to Black Gold,” found that in 2025, with oil hovering around $65 a barrel, a 12-pack of sliders could fetch nearly $72 on eBay. That makes them a more stable investment than crypto, cattle futures, or your uncle’s pyramid scheme.

A Houston trader explained, “You can’t eat oil. You can drink it, but you’ll regret it. A slider, though, you can resell or consume. That’s called liquidity.”

In Midland, ranchers are already considering slider-based currency. One man told us, “I’ll trade three sliders for a gallon of gas, or four if it comes with crinkle fries.”

Meanwhile, ExxonMobil released a defensive press statement: “Oil remains the backbone of Texas. White Castle sliders are a novelty. Also, stop trying to put onions in your gas tanks.”

Still, the numbers don’t lie. Economists predict that by 2030, a single slider may outperform the S&P 500, making Harold & Kumar the most prescient financial analysts of the 21st century.
