Cat Cafés
“I Thought Mr. Whiskers Was Aloof. He Was Just Confused and Wearing Ears.”
Whisker Bliss Café, a trendy feline-themed hangout in Portland, is facing backlash after an investigative TikTok revealed that many of its “cats” were actually actors in fursuits–or, in one case, a very sleepy Pomeranian in a wig named Greg.
“The purring was just a Bluetooth speaker hidden in the couch,” said one betrayed customer. “I paid $7 for a latte and $14 for a lie.”
The owner claimed the café was an “immersive feline performance space” and a “commentary on the commodification of purr energy.”
Greg the Pomeranian has since become an online sensation under the username @NotACatButTrying.
The café now offers a refund–or a coupon to their sister concept: “Barkery & Deceit.”
Feline purists have launched a rival café called *Pawsitively Real* featuring 100% verified cat hair and 0% performance art.
Auf Wiedersehen, amigos.
