Bad Tinder Bios
“Likes: Long Walks, Bitcoin, and Explaining Tarantino Movies. Swipe Left to Preserve Your Sanity.”
Thirty-year-old Derrick Muncy never expected to become a cautionary tale, but his Tinder bio–described by curators as “the Sistine Chapel of red flags”–has been enshrined in a special exhibit at the Museum of Digital Folly. Titled *Alone in the Algorithm: A Swipe Through the Void*, the installation features Derrick’s unaltered profile, which reads in full:
“Alpha male energy. 6’1″ (yes, it matters). Looking for a queen who can handle sarcasm, shots, and watching me lift. No drama, no vegans, no horoscopes. Bonus if your dad owns land.”
The exhibit includes a rotating loop of women’s reactions, ranging from screams into pillows to interpretive dances of secondhand embarrassment. One display lets visitors swipe left on a giant foam screen that emits a faint whimper each time Derrick’s face appears.
“It’s not just the content,” said lead curator Marina Vo. “It’s the energy. The complete absence of self-awareness. We had to dim the lights for emotional safety.”
Derrick, who has since leaned into his fame, claims the profile was “satire” and now sells NFTs of his worst chat openers (“Hey girl, you into crypto cuddling?”) for $30 apiece.
Critics say the exhibit speaks to a generation trapped between loneliness and lead magnets. “It’s not that Derrick’s unlovable,” said sociologist Dr. Paige Lemons. “It’s that he thought negging and grilling were personality traits.”
The museum plans a follow-up exhibit: *Ghosted & Roasted: The History of Unreplied Messages.* Derrick has already submitted 400 screenshots.
Auf Wiedersehen, amigos.
