The multi-level marketing empire *Ascendite* promised enlightenment, abundance, and a starter pack of ethically sourced moon crystals. What they delivered? A desert commune shaped like a geometric fever dream and 36 lawsuits from former “vibe investors.”
Founded by aura influencer and former improv coach Zephyra Moonbloom, Ascendite claimed that “wealth is stored in the soul, then Venmoed into the cosmos.” Entry-level members were required to purchase $888 worth of crystals, a singing bowl license, and a robe with adjustable fringe.
The real controversy began when Zephyra broke ground on a life-size crystal pyramid in the Sonoran Desert–allegedly designed by “messages from quartz.” County inspectors found no permits, no plumbing, and one llama acting as a tour guide.
Former members report being encouraged to chant at their downline, charge their debit cards under full moons, and replace therapy with high-frequency foot soaks.
“I didn’t realize I was in a pyramid scheme until they made me clean the actual pyramid,” said ex-member Jasmine. “With an amethyst rake.”
Zephyra insists it’s all being misunderstood. “The universe isn’t scamming you. You’re just spiritually underprepared for commissions.”
