Forgotten Anniversaries
“She Said ‘Where’s My Gift?’ I Said ‘Behold the Syrup of Redemption.'”
Brian Elkins forgot his 12th wedding anniversary. Again. But rather than panic, he took inspiration from a last-minute Pinterest search and built a six-foot pancake tower using frozen waffles, maple syrup, and blind hope. He then performed an interpretive dance titled *My Heart Remembers Even When My Calendar Doesn’t.*
“He came out in a robe, holding a spatula like a scepter,” said wife Caroline. “I wasn’t sure if I was being loved or pranked.”
The performance involved slow-motion syrup drizzling, two uncoordinated spins, and a heartfelt monologue delivered while standing on a yoga mat labeled “emotional stage.”
Neighbors watched through the window. One applauded. One called 911. The dispatcher reportedly stayed on the line to hear how it ended.
Caroline eventually forgave him–mostly out of respect for the structural integrity of the pancake tower and the emotional vulnerability of a man covered in whipped cream.
Brian has since started a TikTok channel called *Anniversary Amnesia*, offering apology choreography and tips on how to weaponize breakfast foods romantically.
The syrup stain on their carpet remains as a reminder.
Auf Wiedersehen, amigos.
