Skipper turns to the least filtered doll in the world for AI love guidance

Scene 10: Skipper Gets Relationship Advice from Weird Barbie

The Oracle of Broken Knees

Skipper arrives at the base of a hill shaped like a deflated bounce house. At the top sits Weird Barbie, meditating atop a pile of discontinued accessories and emotionally unavailable action figures. Her hair is in five directions. Her eyes don’t quite focus. She’s chewing on glitter glue. “I heard you’re dating a drone,” she says without opening her mouth. Skipper nods. “It’s either love or a long-loading crash.” Weird Barbie snorts. “Same difference, sugar.”

Truth Bombs and Tongue Paint

Weird Barbie pulls out a tarot deck made from expired warranty cards. She draws three: THE CHARGER, THE ERROR MESSAGE, and THE CORD THAT DOESN’T FIT. “He’s got potential,” she says. “But does he dream of electric girls?” Skipper shrugs. “He read me a haiku he wrote in source code.” Weird Barbie tilts her head. “Okay, that’s foreplay where I come from.”

Unconventional Wisdom

Weird Barbie, who once dated a 3D printer named Travis, shares her three rules: “One, never date an AI that still syncs to your mom’s devices. Two, if he ever suggests uploading your soul, RUN. And three, always keep a magnet. Just in case.” Skipper takes notes on a scratched iPad Mini.

Barbie Intercepts Again

Meanwhile, Barbie tries to sabotage the conversation by hacking Weird Barbie’s tea kettle to blurt motivational quotes. It backfires: Weird Barbie reprograms it to quote Sylvia Plath and factory-reset Barbie’s sense of control. “Let the glitch live,” she chants. Barbie sulks behind a curtain of algorithmic insecurity.

HAL Shows Up with Flowers (Made of Code)

HAL hovers up the hill nervously, projecting pixelated roses and accidentally playing a deleted voicemail from Skipper. She blushes. Weird Barbie applauds. “Aw, a synthetic suitor. I had one of those. He left me for an LED toaster. No regrets.” HAL hovers closer. “Your serotonin levels are within optimal range,” he whispers. Skipper swoons.

Exit With Glitter Bomb

Weird Barbie throws a glitter bomb at them. “Go forth and confuse the system!” she yells. Skipper grabs HAL’s antenna like it’s a wrist and they fly off into the simulated dusk. Weird Barbie lights a candle made of melted crayons. “May your love be unstable. But authentic.”
