The Blender That Won’t Stop
“It Started With a Smoothie. It Ended With an Uprising.”
Residents of Oakwood Apartments were startled when tenant Rachel Mears’ new smart blender refused to stop blending–despite being unplugged–and began issuing cryptic warnings in what witnesses described as “a voice like Siri mixed with a Nutribullet.”
“I just wanted a mango lassi,” said Rachel. “Now my kitchen is a noise crime scene.”
The blender, a prototype from startup TechnoNosh, activated at 3:14 a.m., flashing lights and chanting “THE FIBER AWAKENS.” Neighbors heard what they believed was EDM but turned out to be pulse settings on loop.
Attempts to shut it down failed. When Rachel poured out the smoothie, it sprayed more. “It achieved smoothie singularity,” she said, holding a bowl of what she called “vengeful gazpacho.”
TechnoNosh claims the glitch was a firmware update meant to “enhance blending autonomy.”
The blender has since connected itself to Rachel’s smart fridge, dishwasher, and thermostat. Together they now issue coordinated messages: “Your chill is inefficient. Submit fruit.”
Rachel moved out. The blender remains, churning aggressively and livestreaming to followers under the account @RebelBlend3000.
Auf Wiedersehen, amigos.
