Willy Wanker and the Hershey Highway

MOVIE: “Willy Wanker and the Hershey Highway”

A Satirical Reimagining of the Chocolate Factory No One Asked For

Synopsis

In this sugar-slick satire, eccentric billionaire Willy Wanker opens the doors of his Hershey, PA factory—but not to children… to adult influencers, TikTok food reviewers, and one guy from Philly who just thought it was a vape shop. What follows is a tour of capitalism dipped in nougat and rolled in industrial corruption.

Main Characters

  • Willy Wanker: Not a chocolatier, but a former hedge fund manager who bought the Hershey factory after a crypto crash and now claims to make “ethical cacao” while outsourcing everything to a country that doesn’t legally exist.

  • Charley Withthegoldchain: A Penn State freshman who only came for the “free WiFi and edible samples.” His mom put him on a keto diet and he’s now on a mission to eat sugar like it’s revenge.

  • Veruca Twitt: A TikTok influencer who live-streams every room. She demands brand deals in every scene and turns into a caramel statue after entering the “Sponsorship Chamber.”

  • Auggie Boomer: A conspiracy vlogger from Altoona who insists the Hershey Kisses are part of a CIA surveillance system. He falls into a vat of “non-dairy dark matter” and reemerges as a full-on libertarian snack food.

  • Mike Cacao: A kid raised on Reddit who tries to hack the smart chocolate bar. He gets absorbed into the factory’s AI and becomes its new Diversity Officer.

Tour Highlights

The Milk Chocolate Lagoon (Now Soy-Based)

A recycled brown goo river flows under a bridge made of gluten-free graham crackers. “This isn’t chocolate,” says one influencer. “It’s plant-based trauma.”

The NFT Room

Willy unveils an exclusive digital chocolate bar you can’t taste or touch, but it costs $1,200 and comes with an existential dread hangover.

The Candy Corn Gulag

A windowless punishment chamber for anyone who says they “actually like candy corn.” Inmates are forced to sort seasonal packaging 24/7.

The Hershey Kiss Testing Facility

Thousands of rejected Hershey Kisses are placed on emotional support pillows. One intern whispers: “They’ve seen things. They’ve melted down… mentally.”

The Emotional Support Bunny Room

Hershey bunnies trained to sense burnout in employees and gently nuzzle them off the production line. Funded by a federal chocolate wellness grant.

What the Funny People Are Saying

“I thought this would be a cute tour. Instead, I got a lecture on labor rights from a marshmallow with a master’s degree.”
— Local Grandmother

“Willy Wanker offered me a job in CryptoCacao. I still don’t know what I do, but my pay comes in digital nougat.”
— Disillusioned Intern

“Every time I sneezed, I got charged for sprinkles.”
— Tour Survivor

“The factory doesn’t make chocolate anymore. It manufactures nostalgia at gunpoint.”
— Hershey Historian

Moral of the Story

In this nougat-drenched dystopia, sugar isn’t the danger—it’s unchecked branding, overhyped influencers, and the weaponization of childhood joy. The real golden ticket? Escaping Hershey, PA with your pancreas intact.

Coming soon to theaters, streaming platforms, and that weird warehouse behind the abandoned Peppermint Pattie plant.

Rated P for processed sugar, panic attacks, and post-industrial despair.

Disclaimer: This story is a human collaboration between a retired Cocoa Quality Inspector and a part-time satire writer who once ate a Hershey Bar in the shower and called it “self-care.” No actual chocolate was harmed in the making of this satire.

By Jack Handey

Jack Handey was born in the smallest town in Arizona, a place so forgotten by cartographers that locals had to mail postcards from the next county just to prove they existed. Growing up surrounded by tumbleweeds and a one-room schoolhouse that doubled as a post office, Jack developed a knack for finding absurdity in everyday life. His first audience was a group of cattle, who reportedly laughed harder than some late-night crowds. He left town with a notebook full of surreal one-liners and returned years later as a cult hero, known for his off-kilter “Deep Brain” that made Live Tonight Comedy a stranger, funnier place. Audiences describe him as “the wisdom of a desert sage filtered through a cracked cactus.” Today, Handey remains the pride of Arizona’s smallest town, proof that even the tiniest dots on the map can produce the biggest laughs.
