DOJ: “Trump’s Not in the Files.” Media: “He’s HATED in Our Hearts, and That’s What Counts”
After days of chaotic theorizing, wild speculation, and interpretive journalism inspired by dream journals and discarded Starbucks receipts, the Department of Justice calmly confirmed that Donald J. Trump’s name appears nowhere in the Epstein documents.
This, of course, did not sit well with America’s media class — who responded by shifting from “reporting” to “emotional projection in trench coats.”
“He may not be in the files,” whispered CNN’s Jake Tapper while holding a single rose and staring wistfully out the window, “but he’s in our collective trauma. And that’s legally admissible in the court of moral outrage.”
MSNBC quickly launched a follow-up special:
“When the Name’s Not There — But the Energy Is.”
In it, Rachel Maddow conducted a segment reading the DOJ report out loud, then pausing every three pages to sigh and whisper, “He’s just… everywhere and nowhere, isn’t he?”
At the New York Times, editors commissioned a new op-ed series titled:
“Trump Is Missing… But We Still Blame Him.”
The lead essay claimed that while Trump wasn’t technically named, “his vibes were undeniably present.” It cited an instance of the word “tremendous” being used in a non-ironic fashion as “proof of spiritual residue.”
A joint panel on NPR featuring a trauma therapist, an amateur tarot reader, and a barista named Skyler agreed:
“Trump’s absence from the files actually speaks volumes about his omnipresence. Like the wind. Or regret.”
At The View, Whoopi Goldberg declared, “Okay, so he’s not in the documents. Maybe he’s in the margins. Maybe he’s between the lines. Maybe he’s the comma!”
Joy Behar wept softly into a napkin folded into the shape of the 2016 electoral map.
Meanwhile, Donald Trump responded in a brief press statement while golfing in Florida:
“They didn’t find me because I was never there. And because I’m fantastic at not being places I don’t need to be. Also, I have my own plane.”
Still, media outlets refused to let go. CNN ran a follow-up story titled:
“The Redacted Spirit: Was Trump Erased by Elites to Protect Himself From Themselves?”
It featured grainy images of blank spaces and a guest expert who teaches a course called “Advanced Intuition at Stanford Lite.”
Comedian Sarah Silverman mocked the whole thing during her podcast:
“So he’s not in the files, but the media’s still acting like he sent Epstein a Venmo for foot cream. Let it go, guys. You’re dating the ghost of a conspiracy.”
As of press time, MSNBC had unveiled a new AI-powered “emotional detection” tool that scans documents for unseen guilt. Beta results included Jesus Christ, Babe Ruth, and the inventor of mayonnaise.
