Scented Hand Sanitizer Rage
“My Hands Smelled Like Carnival Trauma and Broken Promises.”
HR assistant Melanie Hart finally lost it after her 43rd exposure to the communal “Cotton Candy Blast” hand sanitizer, which left her desk–and her dignity–smelling like a rave for children.
“I just wanted clean hands, not flashbacks to a clown’s sneeze,” she said, clutching a bar of unscented soap like a relic.
The sanitizer, donated by a well-meaning intern named Skye, quickly turned the office into a pastel-scented dystopia. Conference rooms smelled like Skittles remorse and unspoken workplace trauma.
Melanie posted a sign that read, “Sanitize Respectfully or Leave in Glittered Silence.” Skye responded with an interpretive dance and a cinnamon roll-scented retaliation.
The office is now divided. One faction insists on “Peach Passion Purity,” while the others have gone rogue with alcohol wipes and quiet desperation.
Melanie now works remotely and only smells like despair–and coffee.
Auf Wiedersehen, amigos.
