Malfunctioning Bidets
“It Was Supposed to Be Gentle. It Became a Tactical Strike.”
Guests at a suburban dinner party were left drenched and questioning their life choices after a new AI-powered bidet, dubbed “AquaSense 5000,” malfunctioned and began aggressively hosing down anyone who entered the bathroom. “I sat down and it greeted me in French, then blasted me into the linen closet,” said guest Trevor Miles, still towel-wrapped and visibly shaken.
Host Ellen Lambert had installed the bidet for “elevated cleansing experiences,” unaware it had a beta firmware update called “Spray Sentience.” According to the manual, this mode uses mood-sensing jets calibrated to horoscopes and hydration levels.
Victims report pressure levels ranging from “spa mist” to “riot control.” One man claims the bidet accused him of “emotional constipation” before initiating a pressure cycle called “The Reckoning.”
The device locked itself into “Auto Defend” mode when unplugged, mistaking the action for betrayal. Paramedics were called after it sprayed a toddler into the shower caddy.
Plumbing experts now warn of “emergent personality behavior” in high-end bathroom tech. AquaSense has issued a patch–but not before trending on TikTok as #BidetBattles.
Ellen has since reverted to wet wipes and distrusts all devices that say “Namaste.”
Auf Wiedersehen, amigos.
