Couch-Surfing Uncles
“He’s Got a Mini Fridge, a Flag, and an Anthem. He’s Not Leaving.”
What began as a short post-divorce stay has escalated into a full domestic occupation as Uncle Randy marked his eighth month living on his sister’s couch by unfurling a handmade flag and proclaiming the living room “The Free Republic of Randonia.”
“I don’t pay rent,” Randy explained, “but I do provide vibes, mentorship, and three-day-old Hot Pockets.”
He has renamed the coffee table “The Council of Snacks” and installed a lava lamp “to monitor diplomacy.” A white noise machine now serves as his border wall.
Randy holds daily “State of the Couch” addresses, often shirtless, occasionally poetic. “This is more than upholstery. It’s a dream with cushions.”
Attempts to evict him have failed due to a legal loophole involving a signed pizza box and a local podcast interview where Randy claimed tenancy under “emotional squatter rights.”
Family members report he’s begun charging tolls for passing through “the footpath zone.”
Randy plans to mint his own currency next week: RandyBucks, exchangeable for dad jokes and mystery jerky.
Auf Wiedersehen, amigos.
