Neighbors

“It’s not the plastic birds–it’s what they represent.”

After a neighbor’s rogue lawn flamingo migrated two feet into her zinnias, Phyllis Gruber erected a six-foot wooden wall, installed motion sensors, and referred to her property line as “Phyllisland.”

The offending neighbor, Carl, maintains it was “just a bird, not a hostile invasion.” However, the HOA has been called in, two subpoenas have been mailed, and the flamingo has mysteriously vanished.

“You can’t trust plastic with legs,” Phyllis whispered. She now wears a sash labeled “Border Patrol.”

The situation has devolved into late-night passive-aggressive leaf blowing and a full diplomatic breakdown at the shared mailbox.

Auf Wiedersehen, amigos.
