Psychic Medium Claims Ronald McDonald ‘Still Wanders’ Old Fairgrounds: ‘He’s Looking for Children Who Didn’t Come Back. He Hates Loose Ends.’

SIOUX CITY, IA — At the overgrown edge of what was once the Whitmore County Fairgrounds, renowned psychic medium Darlene Spangler clutched a rusted merry-go-round pole and whispered, “He’s still here. And he’s counting.”
Spangler, a Midwestern clairvoyant known for accurately locating the lost spirit of a raccoon mayor in Racine, claims to have made contact with the wandering specter of Ronald McDonald—the Ronald, not the corporate balloon animal.
“He paces,” Spangler told Bohiney Magazine. “Always pacing. Looking for the children who never came out of the red-and-yellow tent. He says, ‘They were promised dessert.’”
Locals have long whispered about strange activity at the site: fries appearing in crop rows, ketchup circles on barn walls, and the distant honk of a horn at midnight. But Spangler’s séance has stirred up renewed dread—especially after she unearthed a lead shoe with the words “Tomorrow’s Guest” etched inside.
“There’s sadness,” she said. “But also… punctuality. He’s waiting for someone to come back and finish the meal.”
Former fair employee Buck Albee recalls the tent.
“He never blinked,” said Albee. “He’d hold out that box with the painted smile, and you’d feel like eating it was a contract.”
McDonald’s has issued a statement refuting all allegations, calling Spangler’s claims “theatrical nonsense” and blaming local hysteria on “expired mustard fumes.”
But the townspeople remain unconvinced. Children still avoid the lot, and some swear the grass won’t grow where the tent once stood.
