“Lettuce Not Judge–This Romaine Deserves an Oscar.”
In what marketing analysts are calling “either genius or a lost bet,” Nicolas Cage has signed a seven-figure deal to become the global ambassador for Verdura Luxe, a high-end lettuce brand that promises “psychic freshness and Oscar-worthy crunch.” Cage, dressed in a robe made of kale during the press conference, told reporters, “The lettuce chose me.”
Verdura Luxe, grown exclusively in monasteries under biodynamic moonlight, claims their leaves “enhance intuition, digestion, and chaotic creative energy.” The brand’s founder, a former aromatherapist-turned-agriculture prophet, stated, “Nick Cage embodies everything we want in a romaine leaf–mystery, hydration, and unhinged charisma.”
Cage appears in the campaign’s first commercial in a wind tunnel, whispering dramatic monologues to a head of lettuce named Clarisse. “You were born in soil,” he growls. “But you belong on velvet.”
The campaign includes product tie-ins like “The Cage Crisp,” a lettuce-only meal kit subscription, and a lettuce-scented cologne called *Greens of Glory.*
Critics are divided. “It’s like if Shakespeare sold salad,” said one analyst. “Except the salad is yelling.”
Meanwhile, sales of Verdura Luxe have spiked, with upscale grocery stores limiting purchases to one lettuce per customer and issuing certificates of authenticity. The resale market has exploded, with one head of lettuce fetching $347 on Etsy after Cage autographed it with a celery stick dipped in beet ink.
Cage insists this is just the beginning. “Next up, I’m doing a spoken-word concept album about arugula. It’s called *Bitterness Is a Choice.*”
