Pinterest Lies
“It Was Supposed to Be Rustic Chic. It Was Really Just Rust and Screaming.”
Bride-to-be Kaitlyn Dorsey dreamed of a handcrafted, Pinterest-worthy wedding filled with mason jar chandeliers, repurposed barn wood, and cupcakes arranged in the shape of a swan. Reality hit hard when her DIY decor started collapsing mid-ceremony and her floral archway was attacked by bees seeking the lavender glue used in assembly.
“I followed the instructions exactly–except for the parts where I improvised with a hot glue gun and expired glitter,” Kaitlyn sobbed. “Pinterest made it look so sturdy.”
Disasters included a flower girl getting tangled in fairy lights, centerpieces that smelled like vinegar (thanks to the “vintage pickled theme”), and an “edible bouquet” that gave two guests parsley-induced nausea.
The worst moment? The crowning glory: a tiered rotisserie chicken tower meant to represent “sustenance and unity.” It was served undercooked and wobbled like poultry Jenga.
The groom’s uncle tried to salvage the reception with a Polaroid booth, which caught fire after colliding with an ill-advised sparkler cake.
Kaitlyn is now suing her cousin, who curated the Pinterest board under the username *BohoBridesUnhinged.*
She’s also started a blog: *PinFail Wedding Chronicles.*
Auf Wiedersehen, amigos.
