Miniature Horse Therapy
“We Haven’t Met a Deadline in Weeks, But We’ve Never Been Happier.”
When workplace wellness officer Brenda Cho suggested emotional support animals, she didn’t expect the team to unanimously request a miniature horse named Sparkle Muffin. The tiny equine arrived in glittery hoof boots and immediately derailed all productivity–but not a single soul complained.
“She trotted into our hearts and out of our Slack timelines,” said IT manager Carl, petting Sparkle while ignoring 34 unread emails.
Initially meant to ease Monday anxiety, Sparkle now receives daily spa misting, oat-infused foot soaks, and her own ID badge with the title “Hoof-Based Hope Facilitator.”
Meetings now begin with a petting circle. Deadlines are replaced with “joy check-ins.” The copier has been converted into a carrot dispenser. Sparkle’s saddle doubles as a suggestion box, mostly filled with doodles of Sparkle.
Some HR officials expressed concern. Then Sparkle gently nuzzled their shoulder and they submitted a PTO request just to reflect.
Brenda has pitched a sequel: llama interns. The CEO, last seen brushing Sparkle’s mane in the breakroom, reportedly responded, “Let the healing expand.”
Auf Wiedersehen, amigos.
