Zumba Cults
“We Came for Toning. We Left with Matching Tattoos and an Evacuation Plan.”
What began as a Tuesday night Zumba class in a church basement has evolved into a full-fledged doomsday prep cult calling itself *The High-Intensity Revelations.* Led by certified instructor-turned-prophet SkyLynn, the group now combines high-tempo Latin cardio with end-of-days prophecy shouted between reps.
“At first it was just salsa and squats,” said former participant Irene. “Then one week we were doing burpees to *La Vida Loca* and she screamed, ‘The oceans will boil and only the rhythmic shall survive!'”
Members wear matching spandex with slogans like “Rapture-Ready Glutes” and “Dance Your Sins Off.” Their workout routine includes prophetic shimmies, interpretive lunges, and synchronized tongue-speaking cool downs.
SkyLynn claims her abs receive divine signals. “Every time I plank, I download another chapter of The Book of Sweatlamentations.”
Classes now include weekly “Armageddon Warm-Ups” and “Tribulation Tabata.” One participant reportedly passed out from combining a HIIT circuit with fasting for the second moon.
The group’s Facebook page offers inspirational quotes like “Don’t fear the beast, just beast your fear!” and sells apocalypse-themed resistance bands called *Seven-Seals Stretchers.*
Local gyms have declined to host them, citing “intense fire imagery” and an incident with protein communion wafers.
SkyLynn is currently planning an end-times flashmob in front of City Hall. Music: “Despacito.”
Auf Wiedersehen, amigos.
