Mall Santas on Strike
“We Ho-Ho-Hold the Line Until You Respect the Beard.”
Chaos erupted at over 150 malls nationwide after Mall Santas staged a surprise walkout over poor-quality beards, insufficient cookie breaks, and what they call “sack-of-coal working conditions.” Led by union president Saint Nick B. Real (formerly Gary from Glendale), the movement is demanding wage increases, sustainable red velvet, and beard adhesive not made from “mystery paste.”
“We’re expected to absorb glitter, fidget spinner requests, and sticky toddlers for $12.50 an hour,” Nick said. “And don’t get me started on the synthetic beard rashes.”
Malls scrambled to replace Santas with animatronic elves and one reluctant Easter Bunny holding a cardboard sign: “I’m seasonal. Please don’t cry.”
Public reaction is mixed. Some parents support the strike. Others fear explaining to their kids why Santa now has a protest drum and chants about dignity.
The union has released a list of demands, including sleigh-parking validation and immunity from gluten-based tantrums.
Negotiations continue. In the meantime, photo ops have been replaced by “reindeer wish corners” run by unpaid interns in felt antlers.
Auf Wiedersehen, amigos.
