Experts Confirm Philodendrons Don’t Need Night Vision
Linda McCafferty, a 67-year-old retiree and part-time passive-aggressive legend, has allegedly installed five surveillance cameras in her daughter-in-law’s kitchen, citing “concerns over ficus hydration and cookie jar security.”
“I’m not spying,” Linda insisted. “I’m simply observing from multiple angles using motion detection and heat mapping. Like a mother. Or the Pentagon.”
The daughter-in-law, Rachel, 34, first suspected something when she noticed a blinking red light in the hanging pot of mint. “Then I found a camera hidden inside a salt shaker. It was labeled ‘Spice Cam.'”
According to legal experts, Linda may have technically violated boundaries, laws, and decency. But local law enforcement declined to pursue charges, citing “familial gray zones and a fear of her brisket.”
Family therapist Dr. Kevin Sudsworth calls this a classic case of MILDR–Mother-in-Law Domestic Recon. “It often starts with ‘just checking’ and escalates into full-blown CIA-level dossier collection,” he explained.
One of the cameras allegedly captured Rachel eating ice cream straight from the carton and mumbling “I hate Thursdays.” Linda responded with a printed pie chart titled “Dessert Shame by the Spoonful.”
In retaliation, Rachel has installed a decoy Alexa programmed to say “Hi Linda, we’re doing great,” every 30 minutes. Tensions remain high but passive.
Auf Wiedersehen, amigos.
