Over-Filtered Pet Photos
“Online He’s a Feline God. In Person, He’s Just Carl.”
When Linda Stokes posted pictures of her cat Carl using the “GalaxyWhiskers” filter pack, followers swooned. “He looks like a panther raised by angels,” commented one. “This cat taught me to love again,” said another.
But when Linda brought Carl to a new groomer, the result was confusion, horror, and one very disappointed social media influencer.
“I was expecting fur that shimmered like moonlight,” said groomer Denise. “Instead, I got matted back hair and mild contempt.”
The filters had given Carl emerald eyes, glittery fur, and the illusion of feline cheekbones. In real life, Carl is cross-eyed and slightly shaped like a pancake.
Linda defended her edits. “Carl is spiritually photogenic. Reality is just a suggestion.”
Her Instagram bio now reads “Visual poet of feline fantasy.” She’s selling presets like *Mystic Tabby* and *Soft Purrfection* for $18.99 a pack.
Carl, unaware, continues to knock over plants and stare blankly at walls. Critics now call him “the Garfield of our time.”
Auf Wiedersehen, amigos.
