Tech Glitch or Transcendence? Feds Report “No Verbal Output Detected” After 4 Hours

LANGLEY, VA — Federal surveillance agents monitoring the reanimated Mahatma Gandhi expressed “urgent concern” Tuesday after failing to detect any verbal output for over four hours. “We assumed his AirPods Pro were malfunctioning,” said Agent Curtis Blanks, speaking anonymously. “Or maybe he was stuck in a software update.”

According to a leaked NSA transcript, Gandhi had not uttered a single audible word between 6:12 a.m. and 10:23 a.m., during which he sat motionless in a Mar-a-Lago cabana, sipping hot water and occasionally blinking. The silence was flagged by new government software called “ChatterTrack,” which measures national security threats by word count and decibel level. “Gandhi’s level was below that of a dehydrated monk in airplane mode,” noted the report.

Concerned, agents approached Gandhi and attempted to trigger speech using traditional cues: saying “hello” loudly, offering a bacon-wrapped shrimp, and yelling “Namaste” through a megaphone. Gandhi responded by slowly lifting one finger — the index — and pointing at the sun. The agents described the move as “suspiciously poetic.”

Tech analysts speculated that Gandhi might be using a mental Bluetooth protocol no longer compatible with modern surveillance. Others claimed he was beta testing a new version of iOS: Inner Om System. Apple declined to comment.

Eventually, Gandhi stood up, smiled, and handed one agent a pinecone. Sources say it was “warm, possibly symbolic.” NPR’s special on the incident was titled “Is Silence the New Dissent?” while CNN ran a chyron reading “Terror, or Tranquility?”

Gandhi later tweeted a single emoji: ??. No one knows what it means, but Homeland Security now has it on a watchlist.
